Let’s brighten your life!
Hi, I’m Maggie Verderame from brightmaggie.com where I share all the sunshiny media, music, and experiences that I create focused on health, home and happiness to help you to be your most radiant, magical self — brightly ever after!

Ritualizing The Regular, is the special place where I share my MMMMMMusings* in a way unlike anywhere else I show up.
You’ll find essays full of bright living tips, prompts, inspirations, haikus, lyrical poetry, original music, “wishcraft”, rituals, recipes, naturally decadent diy’s, MAGical mantras, guided meditations and more—all aligned to the seasons as we spiral together through the Wheel of the Year.
I don’t like to flood your inbox, so I won’t email everything I publish here (you’ll want to check the archives and notes feed to see it all), but I will email subscribers the most vital pieces to inspire your bright life, so subscribe to make sure you get them.
NOTE: “Subscriber” is different than “Follower.”
Followers will not receive emails and have to dig around here to find what they’re looking for…AKA, miss lots of good stuff! Save yourself the hassle and rabbit holes by becoming a subscriber.
*Music, Movement, Mindfulness, Munchies, Mantra & MAGic
Ritualizing The Regular is a heartfelt compilation of doable practices that fit into your already full life, messages and recipes, guidance and inspirations to brighten your life that aren’t shared anywhere else. (That is, until I land a dreamy publishing deal for the beautiful books I imagine on good ol’ fashioned paper inside gorgeous covers. Then, I may pull some things from here…but you’ll always have been the first to read them!)
So, join me on this Substackian adventure of words and creativity.
What do subscribers get?
Every first Sunday of the month I’ll send free subscribers my monthly “stack”: a recipe and a Monthly MAGical Mantra card (both downloadable/printable) plus seasonally inspired simple-to-do ritual guidance that makes the busy, seemingly mundane stuff of your life feel juicier and more connected.
Don’t worry, you don’t need a cauldron, lots of extra time,
or any special background to perform these rituals.
That’s the whole point of Ritualizing The Regular—
your beautiful life is busy enough; you just need a little nudge in the bright direction
to add some shine to what you’re already doing!
That’s where I come in (usually singing and waving a wooden spoon).
Most of the rituals I share are reminders or easy actions that infuse your days with more mindfulness and intentionality, helping your life feel more like one you adore.
As a thank you, when you subscribe, you’ll also get immediate access to an exclusive Bright Bingo Bundle!
8 charming downloadable and printable sweet self care and mindfulness ritual prompt bingo cards—1 filled with inspired prompts and 1 blank (so you can DIY your own joyful prompts)—for all four seasons on the wheel of the year.

After five decades on the planet, I’m certain of one thing: Everything is connected. You. Me. Them. This place. That place. Those things. That action. We all have influence over and radiate energy out to one another.
The same is true about my creations and shares. No matter when or where I present them, they’re all connected, weaving a tapestry of living brightly through the lens of nature, consciousness and magic.
My overarching message is that you are a bright capable being, deserving of wellness, peace, ease, empowerment, sovereignty, laughter, joy, happiness and love.
And that it’s possible for you to create and sustain all of the above by “ritualizing the regular” with practical action steps in the midst of your (extra)ordinary modern life.
Right now, all subscriptions to Ritualizing The Regular are FREE. Yippeee!
And forever all free subscriptions will receive the monthly goodies I mentioned above as well as any extras here and there as bright ideas strike. Double Yippeee!

Get to know me in a written snapshot:
I homeschooled my daughter (in partnership with my husband and with the joy of a cooperative friend group, but I was the main director of her education) for 8 years, grades 1-8. I didn’t plan to do this and started spontaneously. It’s something I’ll always be proud of and I didn’t love every second of it, but I mostly did. I have no regrets except for the fact that I live in a society that runs on money and it’s tricky to try and work to earn money while homeschooling your kid(s) so, like most women I’ve carried the stress of feeling like a burden even though I’ve never had a harder, more demanding, poorer paying, more rewarding job. It’s very cool to curate an education, learn together, dive deep into subjects and explore things like true, un-whitewashed history. She now attends a nationally acclaimed arts academy and is a wonderful human, perfectly well adjusted, kind, curious, open minded and socialized, not freaked out by life (like most of us). Which, thank goodness because her generation is not being handed a golden ticket, are they? I call her my Wee Girl and even though she’s done growing, she’s a tiny thing so this still tracks.
I’ve been in a happily committed relationship with the same guy for 30 years—a drummer by trade and training in a famous show on the Las Vegas Strip. He’s also a sound designer, composer, music arranger, player of a myriad instruments, and my favorite musical partner. We’re apparently oddly happy and in love in our fifties. We feel bummed for everyone in a relationship who doesn’t feel this way. Life hasn’t always been easy, but we partner really well through it all and are grateful. He was a choice I made. I was a choice he made. We check in often, communicate constantly, and continue making these choices. Sometimes it’s work but it always winds up worth it, and leads to joy. So I get really annoyed when people say to me, “You just can’t understand hard relationships because you have an easy partner,” as if when choosing their partners they had no say in the matter and aren’t I lucky to have it so easy 100% of the time and to never have to put any conscious thought or action into a lifetime of loving partnership?! As far as I know, none of us is in an arranged marriage.
I survived a super weird version of Long Covid that lasted a year between 2022 & 2023. I wasn’t sure I would live through it, and I’m so glad I did. I don’t exactly have a rainbows and butterflies tale to share about it, in fact there are still people who seem irritated that I was “gone” for a while, but I can tell you the experience illuminated the power of intentional prayer—any prayer by anyone, as well as magic, mantra, medicine, science, natural remedies, trust, personal strength, support, partnership and persistence. I am stronger because of this.
I’m GenX, midlife, and still figuring things out with as much humor as possible. I’ve made a lot of lemonade over the years out of several lemons I’ve been given. It’s usually quite tasty.
I’m always learning and I love to teach. I usually turn said “lemonade” into teachings.
I live in a rather suburban area which no one believes because it’s just minutes from the famous Las Vegas Strip. But like, we’re talking strollers, dogs, soccer moms. I’m not one.
I’m a professional singer-songwriter and sometimes I sing in a rock band, but mostly I sing in my kitchen while cooking. I prefer to sing during brunch and to raise money for good things. Charity brunch gigs are few and far between.
I secretly write stand up comedy routines and pretend perform them. My bit about following my robot vacuum around with the remote to make it clean how I want? Kills.
I’ve been a yoga teacher since 2001, and a practitioner since 1993. I started yoga because I had very severe scoliosis that went from a 13˚ curve to a 48˚ curve in about six months when I was a young teenager. Which isn’t good. (IYKYK) Yoga awakened a consciousness in me that improved my body, mind and life. To this day yogic teachings influence everything I do and I don’t think there’s any other form of exercise that can bring you closer to Divine Love. I believe in the power of yoga when practiced intentionally and properly (and I’m happy to tell you what proper means when you ask) for allllllll the reasons it’s good for you—body and mind, but as I’ve aged and gone through various changes that created new needs and opportunities for growth, and as body science has evolved, so have I. Typically people need to stretch more. But not only. And by midlife, lifelong yoga practitioners, especially women, usually need to build some strength. I’ve come to believe in a person’s right movement as medicine and that means I move in more ways than just yoga now. Turns out I really like reformer Pilates and I’m fascinated by biomechanics workouts. I’m currently learning from a fantastic Functional Patterns trainer who seems to think I’m a linebacker with the amount of load she puts me under…and I love it!
I’ve humbly taken on the role of Personal Transformation Coach and became certified in multiple modalities over multiple years to do so. This is one way I help people brighten their lives in their own unique way and transform to soar like a butterfly. I am no one’s guru.
I come from a long line of Kitchen Witches on my matrilineal side. Cooking is my happy place. Sometimes I make MAGic—usually in and around my hOMe or garden. Mine is a gently growing, wishful craft in alignment with the moon and the seasons that incorporates witches, goddesses and angels alike. My wand a wooden spoon, my cauldron a large skillet, my messages often from cards (or the feeling of being hit upside the head with a large skillet when I’m not listening hard enough), my power honed and kindled by other wise women.
I gave a TEDx talk on MAGical Mantras and the marvelous power of the words we speak and sing to ourselves. Watch it all, and you’ll come away with a very doable practice that can improve the positive firing of your brain and help you live an intentional life you love.

I strive to become one of your favorite Substack-ers. One who really makes a difference and helps beautiful you shine even more brightly.
And I hope to truly help you transform your ordinary days to extraordinary ones—easily, with Ritualizing The Regular!
I recommend brewing a warm cuppa something delish and sitting for a quiet weekly spell reading here for enjoyment and inspiration. That’s what I do. It’s a great way to slow down and get some respite from a world on fire (again…when will we learn?!).
I have a private email list over at Bright Maggie where I share my monthly Bright Tidings Newsletter as well as more tactical, promotional info to let you know when I’m offering a course or program, writing a new e-book, guide or journal, gigging—that sort of stuff. I’d love it if you feel moved to join me there, too.
But here on Substack, where humanity is encouraged and generally on full display, I want to embrace my absolute reverence for words and write from my heart. I’m happy to get a little more airy-fairy-flowery, as my Partner In Time (aka, husband) would say.
My greatest intention is that what I share brightens your life and inspires you brighten the world with your brilliance. And I truly believe that can happen simply, from your hOMe. Like Mother Teresa said, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.”
Be sure to reach out anytime (I’m real, no AI here!) and visit me at brightmaggie.com when you want to learn more about my coaching, speaking, teaching, singing, and cooking.
